ABOUT THE SPECIALIST
A doctor in training in family medicine. Internal and obesity-medicine consultations.
Wojciech Kalemba graduated in medicine at the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin. He completed his postgraduate internship at the Lower Silesian Centre of Oncology, Pulmonology and Haematology in Wrocław. He is currently completing a specialisation in family medicine, working in two primary care facilities where he cares for children, adults and the elderly. He also gained experience on night and holiday healthcare shifts.
In daily practice he handles broad diagnostics of internal diseases and the prevention and treatment of obesity in adults. He continually develops his knowledge of modern obesity treatment methods, including a certificate from the Polish Association for the Study of Obesity. In therapy he combines a pharmacological approach with health education and practical support for lifestyle change.
At Sonar Clinic he sees adult patients for internal consultations and provides overweight and obesity therapy. He is distinguished by an individual approach, calm communication and commitment to long-term improvement of patients’ quality of life.
His scope of practice includes:
- Family medicine consultation: a first diagnostic visit for symptoms such as weakness, fatigue, abdominal pain, digestive problems, palpitations, dizziness, blood-pressure issues, recurrent infections and other health problems requiring an internal assessment.
- Follow-up visit (internal or obesity medicine): assessment of treatment effects, therapy adjustment, discussion of results and further recommendations.
- Comprehensive diagnostic visit: detailed history, analysis of existing records, interpretation of laboratory results and initial qualification for further diagnostics or treatment.
- Overweight and obesity therapy — children from age 12 and adults: an individually tailored treatment plan based on current guidelines of the Polish Association for the Study of Obesity, with comprehensive pharmacological and behavioural support, delivered together with the Sonar Clinic team (physician, clinical dietitian and EMStrength Core® therapist).
- Qualification for pharmacological obesity treatment: taking into account the latest medications, indications, contraindications and possible side effects.
